Our correspondent reports that many shops belonging to pro-Biafra sympathizers on Ikwerre Road remained under locks, while the owners were seen idling around.
Similarly; shops at the popular Ikokwu auto spare part market and others on Olu-Obasanjo Road down to Waterlines are also not opened for business at the time of filing this report.
Our correspondent equally sighted men of the Nigeria Police Force in patrol vans, while some security operatives took up positions at strategic locations.
But in government and corporate offices, like commercial banks, the Rivers State Government Secretariat, the Judiciary complex, and local government council secretariats in Port Harcourt and Obio-Akpor, activities are going on normally.
However; some members of the Indigenous People of Biafra who spoke with our correspondent, said they decided to comply with the sit-at-home protest to draw government attention to their agitation.
Our correspondent also reports that shops belonging to Igbo traders around Rumuokoro axis of Obio-Akpor are also closed.
Some commercial tricycle operators around Rukpokwu also confirmed that they are complying with the sit-at-home protest for Biafra.
The respondents maintained that they would not rest until they secure the freedom for Biafra.
