Rivers Alternative Movement Concludes Consultations with 2027 Governorship Aspirants

The Rivers Alternative Movement says it has concluded its consultative engagements with governorship candidates outside the Rainbow Coalition ahead of the next phase of its political activities towards the 2027 general elections.

The Movement disclosed this during a visit to the governorship candidate of the National Rescue Movement, NRM, Reverend Minaibim Harry.

Speaking during the visit, the Convener of the Rivers Alternative Movement, Somina Wokoma, said the group had so far engaged governorship candidates of the NDC, ADC, NDP, DLA and NRM.

Wokoma said the consultations provided each candidate with an opportunity to present their ideas, policies and programmes for the people of Rivers State.

She said the engagements were part of efforts by the Movement to assess alternative political options and determine the direction of its activities ahead of the 2027 elections.

Responding, the NRM governorship candidate, Reverend Minaibim Harry, described the Rivers Alternative Movement as a beacon of hope for Rivers people seeking a new direction in governance.

Harry commended the Movement for creating a platform for dialogue and engagement on the future of the state.
