President Bola Tinubu has directed urgent intervention on the Benin-Agbor-Asaba road and the Ifaki-Kabba-Ado Ekiti road in Ekiti and Kogi States.
In a statement, the spokesperson to the Minister of Works, David Umahi, Francis Nwaze, quoted the minister as expressing deep concern over the deplorable condition of the roads and the hardship faced by motorists and other road users.
Umahi said some commuters have spent several hours, and in some cases days, on the affected routes due to the poor state of the roads.
The minister said the intervention was necessary to ease the difficulties faced by road users and restore smoother movement along the critical routes.
