The Peoples Redemption Party, PRP, governorship candidate, Dr Nature Dumale-Kieghe, says the outcome of the Osun State governorship election has demonstrated that electoral rigging can be resisted when citizens unite behind their preferred candidates.
Dumale-Kieghe, while reacting to the election, said electoral victories could no longer be determined solely by financial muscle or political affiliations.
He stressed that the power of the people remains the strongest force in any election.
The PRP governorship candidate also advised Nigerians to remain vigilant and demand accountable leadership from elected officials.
Dumale-Kieghe further said the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, was now more aware that Nigerians were closely monitoring its activities and would no longer tolerate electoral malpractice.
