Civil society groups have commended the Opobo/Nkoro Local Government Area for commissioning renewable energy projects aimed at improving electricity supply and boosting economic activities.
The projects include a solar mini-grid and solar-powered streetlights, initiated through public-private partnership and sustained by the local council.
The coalition said the projects will enhance security, support businesses, and improve livelihoods across the area.
They also praised plans to extend renewable energy development to other communities within the council area.
