The Initiative for Transparent Strategy and Good Leadership has called on the Speaker of the House of Representatives to remove Kingsley Chinda as Minority Leader.
In a petition, the group alleged that Chinda had defected to the All Progressives Congress after appearing before its governorship screening committee in Rivers State.
The group argued that it was inappropriate for a member of the ruling party to continue as Minority Leader, citing the precedent of Senate President Godswill Akpabio, who resigned as Senate Minority Leader after defecting from the Peoples Democratic Party in 2018.
It urged the Speaker to act swiftly, warning against what it described as preferential treatment.
