Nigerian Army Commissions New Python Camp in Port Harcourt

The Nigerian Army has reiterated its commitment to improving the welfare of its officers and men to ensure better and more efficient service delivery.

The Chief of Special Services and Programmes at Army Headquarters, Major General Jamal Abdussalam, gave the assurance on Tuesday after commissioning a building project known as Python Camp, constructed by the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 6 Division at Bori Camp, Port Harcourt.

Major General Abdussalam, who is also the immediate past GOC of the division, said the army has “never had it so good,” commending the current GOC for prioritizing the welfare of soldiers in the division.

Earlier, the GOC of the 6 Division, Major General Emmanuel Emekah, explained that the Python Camp was built to tackle accommodation challenges faced by officers and men of the division.

The newly completed facility comprises 16 single rooms and two flats, designed to house the GOC’s staff, escorts, and personal assistants of visiting army chiefs.
