Senior Advocate OCJ Okocha Urges Fubara to Move On After Emergency Rule

A Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), OCJ Okocha, has advised Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, to put behind him the controversies surrounding the six-month emergency rule and focus on governance.

Okocha, who is a former President of the Nigerian Bar Association, urged the governor not to hold grudges against any individual or institution over the political crisis that engulfed the state earlier in the year. He emphasized that reconciliation and forward-looking leadership were essential for stability and progress.

The legal luminary also expressed concern about the strained relationship between the governor and the Rivers State House of Assembly, warning that lingering hostilities could hinder governance. He called on both arms of government to work in harmony for the good of the people.

Looking ahead, Okocha stressed the importance of unity across the state’s political landscape, noting that peace and cooperation were necessary to restore public confidence and drive development.
