Senate President Godswill Akpabio has hailed former President Muhammadu Buhari as a leader who served Nigeria with honour and without mismanaging the nation’s treasury.
Speaking at the special Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting held in Abuja on Thursday in honour of the former president, Akpabio described Buhari as a statesman who “sought duty when others sought glory.”
The event was attended by key figures in the country’s leadership, including ministers, governors, members of the National Assembly, and the children of the former president, led by his son, Yusuf Buhari.
The gathering marked a moment of national reflection on Buhari’s years in office and his contributions to Nigeria’s democratic journey.
