Human rights lawyer, KEN ATSUWETE said the situation became clear following the failure by the Office of the State Attorney General to file a counter affidavit against OJUKAYE’s appeal motion.
Briefing newsmen in Port Harcourt on latest developments in the legal battle, ATSUWETE said the failure on the side of the government shows that the State Government was on vendetta mission against the APC Chieftain.
He insisted that there was nothing wrong for requesting the Court of Appeal President to set up a fresh panel to hear the appeal by his client.
KEN ATSWUETE also alleged that certain individuals within Rivers State deliberately sponsored a smear campaign against the person of the President of the Court of Appeal, Justice ZAINAB BULKACHUWA.
The lawyer particularly took a swipe at the South-South Zone of the Civil Liberties Organization for acting contrary to the rules establishing it.
