Plans are being laid by the Federal Ministry of Information and Culture to launch a campaign of National Re-orientation.

Plans are being laid by the Federal Ministry of Information and Culture to launch a campaign of National Re-orientation. The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji LAI MOHAMMED said the campaign is meant to transform the nation’s socio-political economic landscape. The Minister revealed during an interaction with the Governor of Kaduna State, Malam NASIR EL-RUFAI in Abuja that the proposed National Re-orientation campaign will drive home the message that the current administration intend to do things differently. He said the vision of the Ministry will leverage on the unique power of Information and Culture to influence Nigerians to decide, and accept the change agenda of the APC government. The Minister has also held a meeting with the Director General of the National Orientation Agency which is charged with driving the new national orientation agenda of the administration. LAI MOHAMMED said the National Orientation Agency will shoulder the bulk of the responsibility of propagating the change agenda, based on its mission statement to consistently raise awareness, provide timely and credible feedback; and positively change attitudes, values and behaviours, among others. He said the impending campaign will provide the missing link in the war against terrorism and the war on corruption.  The Minister said at the moment, only the military component of the war on terror is going on very well, but the civilian component that involves sensitizing Nigerians to realize that the Boko Haram war is their war, is missing.
MOHAMMED said the same applies to the war against corruption which he said is being fought only by the President, the Vice President and perhaps the Ministers. He said it was time to let Nigerians know that the war against corruption if for all citizens and must be won.
