The warning marks the worsening of the condition about a quarter of a million children suffering from malnutrition in the region that has been ravaged by the Boko Haram insurgency.
UN Humanitarian Coordinator, PETER LUNDBERG said overall fourteen million people in the North-East of Nigeria are in need of humanitarian assistance.
LUNDBERG warned that the UN did not have enough funds to avert the crisis affecting the population, which includes about four hundred thousand children.
