The arrest follows the directive of the Commissioner of Police, NwonyiPolycarp-Emeka, that Divisional Police Officers, Heads of Departments and Tactical Commanders should conduct intelligence guided raids on drug-infested black-spots within their area of responsibility.
Operatives attached to the Choba Division, in synergy with other security outfits, raided a black-spot and arrested some persons, while some suspects were also arrested in Rumuosi and Ogbogoro communities in Obio-Akpor local government area.
In a statement by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Grace Iringe-Koko, exhibits recovered from the suspects include drugs such as cannabis, crack, tramadol, codeine, rohypnol, aphrodisiacs, skunk, toy gun and a knife.
The statement said preliminary investigation is ongoing, while the suspects will be handed over to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency for further investigation and possible prosecution.
Meanwhile, the Police have enjoined members of the public to remain law-abiding and report suspicious activities in their neighborhood.
