At least 20 people have been killed and several others injured after a Bolivian Air Force cargo plane crashed in El Alto in western Bolivia.
Aviation authorities said the accident occurred as the aircraft was arriving at El Alto’s airport from Santa Cruz when it reportedly skidded off the runway and struck nearby vehicles.
Officials said the aircraft had eight people on board at the time of the crash. Police were also reported to have fired tear gas to disperse crowds that allegedly attempted to collect scattered banknotes at the crash scene.
