The leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) loyal to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has said the publication of its presidential candidate by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has ended months of speculation over the party’s participation in the 2027 presidential election.
The faction said predictions that the party would fail to produce a presidential candidate had been disproved by the development.
It described the inclusion of its presidential candidate, Senator Sandy Onor, and his running mate, Babangida Umar, on INEC’s published list of candidates as a significant milestone in its preparations for the 2027 general election.
The group expressed confidence that the publication of its candidates by INEC strengthens its position ahead of the polls and signals its readiness to participate fully in the 2027 presidential election.
