Vatican considering turning off fountains as Drought hit parts of Italy.

The BBC quoted a Vatican Radio saying the move was in line with Pope FRANCIS’s teachings on the environment.

 

Vatican spokesman GREG BURKE also told Reuters news agency that it was the first time anyone could remember such a thing happening, hence the need to show solidarity with Rome during the crisis.

 

The prolonged drought has hit two-thirds of farmland and has cost Italian agriculture an equivalent of two point three billion US dollars.
