Uganda has recorded a big break in technology, with the unveiling of the first solar-powered bus built in that country.
Reports say Kayoola prototype electric bus built by Kiira Motors was put on display at a stadium in the capital, Kampala.
The bus comes with solar panels fitted on the roof, which charges one of its two batteries to increase the vehicle’s eighty kilometer millage range.
It is the hope of the vehicle makers to attract partners to help manufacture the bus for the mass market.
