Prime Minister BINALI YILDIRIM, who made the declaration in a televised speech, said the presence of the so-called Islamic State on the border had ended.
The announcement came after a cut in the supply lines used by the terrorist group to import fighters and weapons.
The UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights confirmed the claim, saying that rebels and Islamist factions backed by Turkish tanks and warplanes had taken several villages on the border between Turkey and Syria.
Meanwhile; Syrian government forces have reportedly recaptured parts of the besieged city of Aleppo, which were lost to rebels last month.
