Super Eagles striker Taiwo Awoniyi has attracted interest from Turkish Super Lig club Çaykur Rizespor, according to Complete Sports. (Complete Sports)
The Turkish club is reportedly looking to strengthen its attack ahead of the new season and has identified the 29-year-old Nigerian as a potential target.
Awoniyi endured a difficult campaign with Premier League side Nottingham Forest last season, with persistent injury problems limiting his playing time.
The Nigerian striker was also left out of Forest’s UEFA Europa League squad before later being included in the club’s Premier League squad following an injury to compatriot Ola Aina.
A move to Turkey could offer Awoniyi an opportunity to secure regular playing time and regain his form as he continues his career in Europe.
