Tony Okocha says supervision of human capital development is priority

Okocha who spoke during an interactive session with members of the Rivers State Council of Traditional Rulers at their Secretariat in Port Harcourt, said although infrastructural development is necessary, his focus will be on human capital development to address some issues in the state.

While disclosing that the essence of the interactive session is to seek the support of traditional leaders for the development of the state, Okocha expressed concern that Rivers State has over nine hundred abandoned projects by the NDDC.

He assured that as representative of the state at the NDDC Management Board, he will revive social activities, educational programs and other programs that will have direct impact on the lives of Rivers people.

Okocha also threatened to resist any attempt to shortchange Rivers people, noting that he will advocate for justice in fair sharing of resources to the Commission.

Today FM’s correspondent Uchendu Ejiowhor reports that traditional rulers across the state were present at the meeting and gave their suggestions on ways to move the state forward and ensure development.
