The aim is to offset the loss of skilled professionals who have relocated abroad while simultaneously bolstering the healthcare system within the country.
President Tinubu who spoke at the unveiling of the Nigeria Health Sector Renewable Investment Initiative in Abuja, also emphasized the need for developed countries to take proactive measures to address the brain drain affecting the health sector in Nigeria.
He stressed the importance of creating opportunities for advanced education and training within Nigeria, enabling the country to produce and retain a larger pool of skilled health workers.
President Tinubu further called on Nigerian health practitioners currently working abroad to consider returning home to contribute to the enhancement of the nation’s healthcare sector.
Earlier, the Coordinating Minister for Health, Professor Muhammad Ali-Pate pleaded with Governors to improve health budgets in their respective states for a better health care sector.
