Tinubu Approves Nigerian Team for US-Nigeria Joint Working Group on Security

President Bola Tinubu has approved the formation of Nigeria’s delegation to the US-Nigeria Joint Working Group, a key step in strengthening bilateral cooperation aimed at addressing the country’s security challenges.

The approval follows agreements reached during a recent visit to Washington, DC, by a high-level Nigerian delegation led by the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu. According to a statement issued on Thursday, Ribadu will head the Nigerian side of the Joint Working Group and will be supported by a multi-stakeholder team drawn from key government ministries, departments and agencies.

The establishment of the group is expected to enhance information sharing, strategic planning and coordinated action between both nations as they work together to combat terrorism, organised crime and other emerging threats.
