There are indications that pressure is being mounted on the Electoral Officer and Returning Officer for the re-run elections in Tai Local Government Area of Rivers State to change their reports.

Our correspondent gathered that the re-run elections in Tai Local Government Area had been concluded, votes collated, winners declared and reports written by both the Electoral Officer and the Returning Officer, only for them to hear that elections in the area had been suspended.The APC Collation Agent in Tai, MBAOKPENE OKPE, alleged that the electoral officials are being pressured to accept financial inducement from the rival PDP to withdraw their reports on the concluded elections.OKPE who is a former Caretaker Chairman of Tai Loccal Government Area, told our correspondent in an interview that the Electoral Officer and the Returning Officer are on the verge of being forced to write new negative reports to reflect cancellation of elections in Tai.Meanwhile; the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Tai Local Government Area of Rivers State, BERENOR NKPORBU, has thanked the people of Tai for turning out in large number to participate in the re-run elections last Saturday.BERENOR NKPORBU warned that the APC and people of Tai would resist any attempt to cancel the conduct of the re-run elections in the area on 19th of March.BERENOR NKPORBU is the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Tai Local Government Area of Rivers State.
