The two main political rivals in Rivers State continue to talk tough, ahead of the re-run elections on 19th of March.
Both the ruling PDP and the opposition APC are calling on their supporters to vote and defend their votes on the election day.
Governor NYESOM WIKE gave the charge to PDP supporters while unveiling the reconstructed Nkpogu Bridge and Road, as well as the groundbreaking for the second phase of the project.On the other hand, the APC candidate for Rivers South-East Senatorial District re-run, Senator MAGNUS ABE threw the challenge during a meeting with APC supporters in Opobo-Nkoro Local Government Area.Senator ABE accused the People Democratic Party of unleashing violence on APC supporters out of frustration of its impending failure.He assured the people that the Federal government will enforce the provisions of the law on anyone or group of persons who violate the constitution of Federal Republic of Nigeria.Senator ABE urged the ruling PDP in the state to a means to reconcile with the ruling party APC at the federal level.
However; at the other end; Governor WIKE said there was no need to allow the APC to return to power in Rivers State.
Governor WIKE said to allow APC leaders to return to power would mean to scuttle development projects for our people.
