The smoldering war of words between the Minister of Transport, CHIBUIKE AMAECHI and Governor NYESOM WIKE of Rivers State continues to rage.
The Transport Minister and former governor of Rivers State led the APC campaign rally at Rumueme in Obio-AKpor yesterday, where he told party supporters that Governor WIKE lacks the political will and capacity to govern the state.AMAECHI also took a swipe at Governor WIKE over the deplorable security situation in the state, stressing that such thing would never have happened while he was still office.The Transport Minister recalled that when he was the Governor of Rivers State, he spent time thinking of how to chase the criminals away.AMAECHI assured Rivers people that if the State Government cannot secure them, the federal government will, stressing that the Federal Government will no longer tolerate the killings in Rivers State.He told APC supporters not to be intimidated by threats by Governor WIKE and to file out and vote in the elections on Saturday, just as he expects the Independent National Electoral Commission to be neutral.Before the Rumueme rally, the Minister of Transport paid condolence to the family of a slain APC member in Bugum, OFIRITE AMACHREE who was burnt to death.CHIBUIKE AMAECHI also promised to assist families of slain APC members in Omoku, in Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni Local Government Area.AMAECHI gave the assurance when he visited families of late FRANKLINE OBI and late CHUKWULADI ADIELA in Omoku.You will recall that FRANKLINE OBI was the APC Chairman of Ward Four, who was killed and beheaded by unknown gunmen alongside his pregnant wife and son.Also, late CHUKWULADI ADIELA was an APC stalwart in ONELGA Ward Fourteen.
