The clarification was made against the backdrop of the influx of prospective recruitment applicants seeking to submit application forms.
The Police Public Relations Officer for the command, AHMAD MUHAMMAD, said guidelines are still being awaited from the Police High Command on the proposed recruitment exercise.
The command spokesman advised prospective applicants to beware of swindlers who may take advantage of the recruitment information as declared by the President MUHAMMAD BUHARI, to defraud them of their hard earned money.
He said the Rivers State Police Command will carry out wide publicity about the recruitment exercise through print, broadcast and social media when the process begins.
