The Rivers State Governorship Tribunal has ruled on the three contentions motions that were earlier reserved, before the Court of Appeal intervened and directed that ruling should be given.
Our correspondent JAMES IGAH reports that the tribunal decided all three motions in favour of the petioners, who are the All Progressives Congress and its governorship candidate, DAKUKU PETERSIDE.
The motions include the issue of eligibility of the petition on grounds of twenty-one days deadline as required by INEC for the filing of nomination form of the APC candidate.
The Tribunal also dismissed the motion challenging the service of the originating summons on the respondent, saying that it lacked merit.
However; the tribunal struck out some sections of the APC’s petition that has to do with allegations against security agents and persons whose names were not specifically mentioned in the petition.
Meanwhile; hearing continues in the tribunal sitting in Abuja, with the petitioners calling in additional witnesses to support their case.
