The recent Supreme Court judgments on governorship election disputes in some state are still receiving knocks from critics.
The latest criticism is coming from a Port Harcourt-based legal practitioner, CHUKS UGURU who said there was nothing to celebrate in all the judgments, notwithstanding the parties that won or lost at the apex court.UGURU disagreed with the Supreme Court demand that allegations by the petitioners should be supported with evidence from all polling units. The lawyer expressed his view here in our studio as guest analyst on Today’s Quest.Speaking further; CHUKS UGURU also made reference to provisions of the Evidence Act which should not be applied strictly to election petition matters.CHUKS UGURU also noted that the Supreme Court also faulted the pronouncement against the introduction of the smart card reader to check electoral malpractice, stressing that the apex court delivered judgment but not justice.
