The Peoples Democratic Party and its candidate for Akuku Toru State Constituency Two, TONYE AWARI ALALIBO, have filed a petition before the election petition tribunal sitting in Port Harcourt.

The PDP and its candidate are contending that INEC wrongfully declared FREDERICK ANABRABA of APC as winner of the election on 19th March.The petitioners are contending that INEC misunderstood and misinterpreted the court judgment on the rerun of Akuku Toru State Constituency Two seat in the Rivers State House of Assembly.In the petition, ALALIBO said he scored the highest number of lawful votes cast at the poll and ought to have been declared winner of the election, adding that no court disqualified him from contesting the rerun election.Our Correspondent VICTOR EZEAMA reports that no date has been fixed by the tribunal for hearing of the petitions filed by the PDP and its candidates.
