The National Industrial Court sitting in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State has stopped the Rivers State Government from evicting from official quarters some permanent secretaries who claim that they were unduly retired. The court took the decision following an undertaking entered into by the lawyer to the Rivers State government, FRANK ONYIRI, in a case instituted by the eight permanent secretaries.ONYIRI had assured the National Industrial Court that he would advise his clients not to tamper with issues raised in the suit filed by the plaintiffs, pending the determination of the case.Speaking in an interview with correspondent VICTOR EZEAMA, counsel to the claimants, TUDURU EDE said the implication of the order is that the aggrieved Permanent Secretaries are still civil servants of the Rivers State Government. The aggrieved permanent secretaries who are in court against the Rivers State Government are SAM WOKA, KADILO BROWN, AUGUSTINE ORLU-ORLU, MUKA NWIKOSI, MINABELEMA MICHAEL-WEST, NGOZI ABU, KINGSLEY HART and JUSTINA JUMBO.
