The leadership of the Rivers State Judiciary and the State Police Command have reached an understanding to enhance cordial working relationship.
Acting Chief Judge of Rivers State, JUSTICE DAISY OKOCHA led senior judges from the state judiciary to the meeting with the Commissioner of Police, MUSA KIMO who was joined by other senior police officers.
In her remarks; Justice OKOCHA called for increased security surveillance around judicial officers to enhance their safety.
Justice OKOCHA also alerted the Police Commissioner that some judges in the state have been receiving threatening phone calls from unknown individuals.
She equally informed that judges whose courts were attacked during the past administration in Rivers State have not been able to resume duty due to persisting security concerns.
C.P. MUSA KIMO promised to look into the complaints, while at the same time calling on judicial officers to ensure they treat police orderlies attach to them well.
