The family of the bus driver who was allegedly shot dead last Friday by a policeman along Ikwerre Road in Port Harcourt has expressed dissatisfaction over the handling of the matter by the authorities. You will recall that following the wave of violence that greeted the killing of DAVID LEGBARA. Governor NYESOM WIKE and the Commissioner of Police, CHRIS EZIKE intervened and assured that the alleged killer policeman would face justice.
However; the legal representative of the deceased family, GOBARI DEEBOM said the suspected killer policeman could not be arraigned today as expected. Addressing newsmen in Port Harcourt, DEEBOM also dismissed suggestions of political undertone in the incident, saying that the slain bus driver was not a member of any political party. The lawyer appealed to Rivers State and the Federal government to contribute to take steps to address the welfare of the deceased’s dependants, stressing that late DAVID LEGBARA was the sole bread winner of his family.
