The Code of Conduct Tribunal has kept its promise to speed up the criminal trial of Senate President, BUKOLA SARAKI, as the case continued today.At the resumed hearing; the first prosecution witness, MICHAEL WETKAS, made more revelations, including failure by the defendant to declare houses he allegedly owned in the United Kingdom.The EFCC operative who was led in evidence by the lead prosecuting counsel, ROTIMI JACOBS, also alleged that Senator SARAKI failed to declare properties in the upscale areas of Ikoyi, Lagos and Abuja.MICHAEL WETKAS supported his claim by tendering the asset declaration form of the Senate President for 2011 as exhibit.Senator SARAKI is facing a thirteen-count charge of alleged false declaration of asset while he was Governor of Kwara State.The Chairman of the Code of Conduct Tribunal, Justice DANLADI UMAR has ruled out suspending the trial of the Senate President to enable him attend the business of the Senate.The Tribunal Chairman said it was not the Senate Chamber that was on trial, but Senator SARAKI.
