The Code of Conduct Tribunal has announced that the criminal trial of Senate President, BUKOLA SARAKI, over alleged false declaration of assets will be given accelerated consideration.

 

The Chairman of the Tribunal, Justice DANLADI UMAR said case will now be heard on a daily basis, from 10AM to 6PM, with one-hour break in between.Justice UMAR gave this indication at the resumption of hearing of the SARAKI case at the CCT in Abuja.Our correspondent JAMES IGAH reports that the decision was reached after the prosecution team requested for one-hour adjournment to enable the lead prosecuting counsel, ROTIMI JACOBS.Justice UMAR was visibly angered by the request, which was based on the excuse that ROTIMI JACOBS had first gone to the Court of Appeal.He warned the parties to abide by the decision of the tribunal to conduct the hearing on a daily basis.
