The Caretaker Administration in Ogba-Egbema- Ndoni Local Government Area of Rivers State has debunked allegations that it was opposed to the ongoing mop up of illegal arms and flush out of criminals by the army.The Secretary to ONELGA Council, OHIA PRINCE-OBI made the denial in an interview with our correspondent, FELIX OJOGWU.PRINCE-OBI who was speaking on behalf of the ONELGA Caretaker Chairman, ISAAC UMEJURU, said the local government authority is in support of the military exercise, so long as it was being done professionally and without victimizing innocent citizens.PRINCE-OBI lamented that ONELGA had been confronted with serious security challenges in recent times.He equally said the presence of the military does not remove the executive powers of the CTC Chairman as the Chief Security Officer of ONELGA.The scribe of the ONELGA Caretaker Government assured people of the area that peace has returned to the council.He called on those that had fled their homes due to fear of attacks to return and assist in rebuilding ONELGA.Others respondents however expressed fears of possible resurgence of insecurity, and appealed to the army to sustain efforts to secure ONELGA.Our Correspondent FELIX OJOGWU reports that some suspected gangsters operating around ONELGA have been declared wanted by the Joint Task Force code-named Operation Pulo Shield.
