The Assistant Secretary of the Rivers state branch of the Association of Local Government of Nigeria PHILIP OKPARAJI has dismissed the allegation that the on-going staff verification exercise in some local government councils is to witch-hunt some individuals.
OKPARAJI who is the Caretaker Committee Chairman of Eleme Local Government Council also dismissed claims by the Rivers State Chapter of the National Union of Local Government Employees that some senior staff were demoted in some local government councils.
The Eleme boss told correspondent CHINEDU IWUNNA that so many irregularities were observed during the verification exercise bordering on staff promotion.
PHILIP OKPARAJI said at the end of the exercise the report will be forwarded to the Local Government Service Commission for appropriate actions.
Meanwhile; the Chariman of the Association of Local Government of Nigeria in Rivers State CLIFF OKPARODU denied the Knowleged of the on-going local government staff verification exercise.
