One of the leaders of the group; GODSPOWER EGBULE said the motive of the petitioners is to blackmail Judges of the Court of Appeal.
EGBULE who is a legal practitioner said it was high time that certain persons who had no knowledge about the law stopped making imputations that tend to desecrate the judiciary.
GODSPOWER EGBULE argued that there was nothing to substantiate the allegation by the petitioners that the Court of Appeal panel would grant bail to the accused person.
Also speaking; an APC politician from Asari-Toru Local Government Area, FRED HORSEFALL, said the petition against the Appeal Court President is the handiwork of the Rivers State Government.
HORSEFALL said the aim is to prevent the release of OJUKAYE FLAG-AMACHREE before the conclusion of the rerun elections.
He also wandered why the civil society activists behind the petition against the President of the Court of Appeal have failed to draw attention to other issues in Rivers State beyond politics.
FRED HORSEFALL is a former Caretaker Chairman of Asari-Toru Local Government Area in Rivers State.
