The forum’ chairman and Ekiti State Governor Kayode Fayemi, transferred power to the sokoto state governor at the National Economic Council meeting in Abuja.
In a statement by the Director, Media and Public Affairs of NGF, Abdulrazaque Bello-Barkindo, Governor Tambuwal will be holding fort until May next year, when a proper election will be conducted among the governors.
Before his new role, Governor Tambuwal served as Vice Chairman of the Forum under Governor Fayemi in the last four years.
