Swedish tennis player Elias Ymer was forced to retire from his opening-round match at the Zhangjiagang Challenger in China after collapsing twice on court.
Ymer was facing Taiwan’s Hsu Yu-hsiou when the incident occurred while he was serving for the second set at 5-3.
The Swedish player suddenly collapsed and lost consciousness, prompting the umpire, medical personnel and his opponent to rush to his aid.
Ymer managed to get back on his feet but collapsed again moments later, leading to another stoppage in play.
After receiving medical attention, the Swede attempted to continue the match but eventually retired at 5-5.
He was reportedly suffering from nausea, with the hot and humid conditions also believed to have contributed to his physical exhaustion.
Ymer, who is currently ranked 212th in the world, was seen limping heavily as he left the court after conceding the match.
