Survey Shows Drop in Food Prices Across Port Harcourt Markets

A recent survey conducted by Today FM has revealed a significant drop in the prices of major food items across key markets in Port Harcourt.

Findings from Mile 1, Mile 3, Slaughter, Creek Road, and Rumuokoro markets show that the prices of rice, beans, and garri have reduced notably compared to previous months.

According to traders, a 50kg bag of foreign rice, previously sold for ₦94,000, now goes for ₦80,000, while a bag of local rice has dropped from ₦64,000 to ₦50,000. Similarly, the price of a bag of beans has fallen from ₦150,000 to ₦105,000, while a bag of garri has reduced from ₦90,000 to ₦60,000.

The survey also indicates a decline in the prices of other food items such as pepper, tomatoes, onions, crayfish, and palm oil.
