South-South Chambers of Commerce Pledge Commitment to Inclusive Growth and Job Creation

The Coalition of South-South Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (COSSCCIMA) has expressed its readiness to spearhead efforts toward inclusive economic growth and job creation within the region.

The President of COSSCCIMA, Indutimi Komonibo, disclosed this during the South-South Job Creation and Economic Review Summit held in Port Harcourt. He emphasized that stronger collaboration between government, the private sector, and regional stakeholders is critical to unlocking the full economic potential of the zone.

Komonibo noted that since its establishment in 2017, COSSCCIMA has prioritized people-centered policies and advocacy across key sectors, including oil and gas, maritime, agriculture, mineral resources, and aviation.

In his remarks, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of COSSCCIMA, Billy Harry, highlighted the coalition’s role in youth empowerment and efforts to reduce the risk of militancy in the region.

Earlier in the summit, the First Deputy President of the Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (PHCCIMA), Isaac Nwonwu, pointed out that poor electricity supply remains a significant challenge, greatly affecting businesses in the South-South region.
