Some founding members of the European Union including; Germany, France and Italy have insisted that the EU will not hold informal talks with the UK until it triggers Article fifty to leave.

This was part of the resolution of the EU leaders when German Chancellor ANGELA MERKEL hosted talks with French President FRANCOIS HOLLANDE and Italian Prime Minister MATTEO RENZI in Berlin.

The leaders also called for a new impulse to strengthen the EU.

Together with the UK, Germany, France and Italy have the largest economies in the EU.

You will recall that last Thursday, British citizens voted 52-48 in favour of leaving the EU in a historic referendum.
