Police have arrested two suspects over the incident at the Quebec Islamic Cultural Centre on Sunday night.
Six people have been confirmed killed and another eight wounded in the shooting, which happened as more than fifty people gathered for evening prayers.
Prime Minister JUSTIN TRUDEAU has issued a statement condemning the terrorist attack on Muslims in a centre of worship and refuge.
The Canadian Prime Minister noted that Muslim-Canadians are an important part of the country’s national fabric.
He said such senseless acts have no place in Canadian communities, cities and country at large.
