Sen. Wasiu Sanni-Eshilokun (APC- Lagos Central) on Thursday gave scholarship to 261 students of various tertiary institutions in the senatorial district.
The lawmaker gave the scholarship during his 7th Constituency Town Hall meeting, tagged : “My Strategic and Progressive Stewardship In The 10th Senate Thus Far” in Lagos.
Sanni-Eshinlokun, Senate Committee Chairman on Marine Transport, said that the scholarship of N100,000 to each beneficiary, was a reflection of his passion for human capital development .
Reeling out some of his achievements at the meeting, the former Lagos State House of Assembly Deputy Speaker, said that he had facilitated several projects and organised life-impacting programmes for the benefit of his constituents.
He listed some of the projects and assistance as roads, street lights, job placements in reputable organisations and cash grants to constituents.
He listed the others as provision of work tools for trained constituents in various vocations,securing admission into tertiary institutions for students and provision of welfare support for constituents.
He added that he also supported efforts towards upgrading Yaba Polytechnic to a full- fledged University.
Sanni-Eshilokun urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the scholarship opportunity.
Speaking, Prince Tajudeen Olusi the Chairman of the Governance Advisory Council (GAC), who applauded the senator for his impactful representation , urged the youth to strive for greatness.
He advised youths not to allow anything to discourage them in their journey to excellence.
Olusi also urged the youth to participate actively in politics in order to impact the society.
The town hall meeting witnessed a huge turnout of constituents and APC leaders in the senatorial district.
Prominent APC chieftains and leaders at the meeting included Chief Wale Oshun, Chief Moshood Mayegun, Chief Oyinlomo Danmole and a former State Party Chairman, Mr Tunde Balogun.
