Saudi Arabia’s top leadership has extended heartfelt condolences to the government and people of Nigeria following the passing of former President Muhammadu Buhari, who died on Sunday in a London hospital.
In separate condolence messages sent to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, expressed deep sorrow over the loss of the former Nigerian leader.
King Salman described Buhari as a “respected statesman who served his country with dignity,” while offering prayers for strength and comfort to the Nigerian people during this period of mourning.
Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman also conveyed his sympathies, highlighting the strong bilateral ties between Nigeria and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and lauding Buhari’s contributions to fostering mutual cooperation over the years.
The condolence cables reaffirm the deep diplomatic relationship between both nations, which strengthened significantly under Buhari’s administration.
