Our correspondent VICTOR EZEAMA who visited Rumuwokeada community reports that the gullies expand anytime it rains.
A Chief in the community, Elder LINUS CHINAA said the gullies were caused as a result of an abandoned drainage project from the previous administration.
He said the people of Rumuwokeada are suffering for the sacrifice they made for the completion of the Ozuoba-Ogbogoro-Rumuorlumeni road.
One CALLISTER IHUNWO who also spoke on the ordeal of the community said women and children now take extra measures to avoid falling into the gullies.
Some of the youths who also spoke with our correspondent said a major disaster would have been recorded when five electricity polls fell during a heavy rain fall last week.
The people of the area are calling on the Rivers state government and the Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company to come to their aid.
Rumuwokeada community is in Ogbogoro, Obio-Akpor Local government area of Rivers state.
