The Minister of Transport made the pledge when he stopped by the family home of late Captain AMADI at Aluu community in Ikwerre Local Government Area on a condolence visit.
Addressing members of the bereaved family and the Aluu Council of Chiefs, the Transport Minister described the death of Captain ELECHI AMADI as a great loss to Ikwerre people, Rivers State and the Nigeria.
The former governor, who is the leader of the Rivers APC, also used the opportunity to call on young people to pay attention to academics, and for Ikwerre youth to sustain their traditional values.
Responding on behalf of Aluu community; the Chairman of the Council of Chiefs, Chief KEN NWOBUWO, said Captain AMADI deserves to be given a national burial because of his contribution to the growth of Nigeria.
Chief NWOBUWO recalled the late writer’s efforts in ensuring the preservation of cultural values and language of Ikwerre people and the creation of Rivers State.
