Rivers State Sole Administrator Advances Plans for 2025 Budget Focused on Healthcare, Education, and Infrastructure

The Sole Administrator of Rivers State, retired Vice Admiral Ibok Ete-Ibas, announced his commitment to drafting an appropriation bill for the 2025 fiscal year, aimed at addressing critical sectors within the state. The proposal will prioritize healthcare delivery, education, agriculture, and infrastructure development.

Retired Vice Admiral Ete-Ibas made the announcement on Thursday while hosting National Assembly members from Rivers State who are loyal to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike. During the meeting, he outlined his vision for the budget, emphasizing its potential to promote job creation and advancements in Information and Communication Technology (ICT).

“I am dedicated to ensuring that our budget reflects the pressing needs of our people,” Ete-Ibas stated, highlighting the importance of these sectors in fostering growth and enhancing the quality of life for Rivers State residents.

In addition to budgetary plans, Ete-Ibas addressed the importance of maintaining law and order throughout the state, noting his efforts to provide a stable environment since taking on his role. He called upon the lawmakers for their support in fostering peace and driving development within Rivers State.

Senator Barry Mpigi, speaking on behalf of the delegation, assured the Sole Administrator of the lawmakers’ unwavering support. “We stand ready to back your initiatives and collaborate to ensure that the goals set forth for the state are achieved,” Mpigi affirmed.

As the administration gears up for the upcoming fiscal year, the focus on essential services and infrastructure is expected to play a crucial role in the ongoing development of Rivers State.
