OJUKAYE is also battling two counts of conspiracy and murder; while the second set of charges also includes murder, conspiracy and attempted murder.
The latest charges are related to the death of one IMINABO DOKUBO and the attempted murder of one IPALIBO JACKSON.
Our correspondent reports that the accused person was not present in court to take his plea in the fresh set of charges before the State Chief Judge, Justice IYAYI LAMIKANRA.
However; Justice LAMIKANRA went ahead to order the OJUKAY be remanded in prison custody on the basis of the fresh charges.
Justice LAMIKANRA also issued a warrant for officials of the Port Harcourt Prisons to produce the accused person in court on the next adjourned date on 4th July when he will take his plea.
Speaking with our correspondent outside the court; the prosecution lawyer, GODWIN OBLA, who is a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, said the failure by the prison officials to produce the accused person in court amounts to an abuse.
On his part; the defence lawyer; KEN ATSUWETE said his team was not aware of the fresh charges against OJUKAYE FLAG-AMACHREE.
KEN ATSUWETE also questioned the propriety of the fresh set of charges when the accused and the decision by the court to fix the day of arraignment for plea, even when the accused person has not been notified of the fresh charges.
It may interest you to note that the next adjourned date of the fresh charges against OJUKAYE FLAG-AMACHREE on 4th July, being Monday next week, is the same day the Court of Appeal is expected to rule on his bail appeal.
