Rivers State Governor, NYESOM WIKE, has been speaking on plans for the National Convention of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, later this month in Port Harcourt.

Speaking in his capacity as Chairman of the PDP National Convention Committee, Governor WIKE said the new leadership regime in the party will not allow the imposition of any kind.He acknowledged that imposition of candidates in the past was responsible for the loss the PDP suffered at the national level in the 2015 general election.Governor WIKE said as an opposition party, there was need for PDP members to guard against actions that could paint a negative image about the party.The Rivers State Governor also suggested that the National Convention of the PDP will not entertain amendment of the party’s constitution.
